Personal Narrative: Ellana

Improved Essays
Ellana was adopted from Manchester Iowa when she was three she has two adopted sisters and two adopted brothers. When she was adopted she moved three different times. The family that she was adopted from lived in Ossian then moved to Iowa when she was ten. When she moved to Cresco she was outgoing and loved to help others. Plus, she liked being around other people. Mainly I think Ellana and I have many things’ in commen with her and I think we both have many connections’ in our own way. She is also very kind hearted and thinks about others then herself all the time.

Ellana and I became friends when we were in sixth grade when she came here to attend the Cresco Jounior High School where we met during Lunch and befriended each other. From there

Her dreams hadn’t been peaceful, nor did they have much time to develop. It seemed like she was only just laying her head down on her pillow, exhausted to the bone, when the subtle shift of her mattress pulled her from its depths. Was her alarm sounding? Had she slept in later than she intended, running late for work? As the brute got comfortable and eased the sheets down to expose her shoulders, Isla took a slow breath in, confused by the deep voice pressed tightly against her ear.…

In the weeks prior to her starting these lessons, she had expressed to me the difficulties she was having putting God first and finding the time to soak in His word. As a mom of two young boys, her life was hectic, to say the least. After one of her first lessons, she texted me the following: “So last night in pottery class, I kept thinking about God being the potter and us the clay.…
