Personal Narrative: Eastview Elementary

Eastview Elementary, which is in Mansfield, Ohio, is where I started my Kindergarten year and finished up to the 3rd grade. However my 2nd grade year was the most frustrating time for me. I was seen as the quiet kid with not a lot of friends, so many would see me as a perfect target to mess with during class. Ms. Smith our teacher was the best part of my school days. She was an average height blonde lady with a peal smile and as nice as my grandma. Ms. Smith was a great teacher and she would always help me if I got picked on in class. Then there was Paige who was the nicest friend I had. Her attitude was that of an older sister and because of that made her my best friend. Finally there were the two kids I just couldn't get away from Dana, and …show more content…
Next to me is Paige my great redeemer for the rest of the day. She leans over and pokes my shoulder and tells me, ¨Good morning!¨ Even though she tells me that everyday on the bus ride to school. I believe that was her way of making me feel better, because she would notice the way Dana and A.J. would speak to me. Ms. Smith then would start the daily lesson writing in cursive, which was a surprisingly boring thing for me to like. I never understood the way to write in cursive but I deeply enjoyed the fluidity of the movement required the write in such a way. Halfway through the lesson she puts up five letters on the blackboard, A, B, Y, Z. Ms. Smith then asks for volunteers to come up front and write one of the letters you choose in cursive. Ben, of course, is the first to run up front without asking to get the letter B. He gets to the board and writes his first name under the B, showing that he could write his name full in cursive. ¨Good work Benjamin!¨ Ms. Smith said as she gives him a gold star. The class surprised by the fact of the exchange all throw up their hands in hopes they could get a chance at a gold star, mine of course is one of them. Ms. Smith picks Jeffrey, A.J., and me to come up and finish the rest of the chalk letters. I get up ready to pick the chalk Y, then without noticing Dana sticks out his foot and I trip …show more content…
Smith!" roared from all in the class.
"Good, now back to the lesson." she said. The rest of that eventful day went on and on till the end when we all boarded the lemon colored bus and headed back to the luxury of home. Paige was next to me on the pothole filled ride very much in a prime mood. "Today was fun," she stated "Yeah I thought it was good too"
"Well I think Dana and A.J. will stop being mean to you." Paige

Literacy Narrative What is Literacy?Google defines literacy as “the ability to read and write.” Literacy plays a major role in our everyday lives, writing our essays that are due within two days, writing a post on facebook, reading a text message, etc. Everyone experiences literacy in a different way, some experience a struggle, not being able to comprehend the purpose of literacy or avoiding it. and others thrive in it. My experience was somewhat neutral due to the fact that as a child I loathed reading and writing, but as I went on through my education I grew to love it.…

I moved many times during my childhood and into my teenage years. I sometimes liked when we moved because it was excited to see what we could discover in our new community, but it could also be heart breaking at other times. For me growing up and sometimes returning to a community or area the best way I could remember who was who was by finding out what school I knew them from. Many times I would receive an odd look when I would ask this type of question. For this reason I decided to write my school influences by my grade and location.…
