On the weekends, Usually my family sits in room and talk and laugh. One day while switching through the channels, the word, “Haiti” came across the CNN screen. Everyone’s attention was on the screen and was wondering what was going on in Haiti. As the screen showed, “7.0 earthquake struck Haiti,” everyone felt a peice of them be destroyed. Everyone was shocked and panicked. One my mother’s side, most family are from Venezuela and Haiti. On my father’s most family is from France and Haiti. Therefore, everyone was involved in one form or another and tried to get as much information on the disaster. Immediately, they bought a phone card and made calls. The calls didn’t go through and watching the death toll rise every 5 minutes was detrimental.
