After Haley left, I binge-listened to podcasts and alternated sleeping and playing with Pansa, Katie and Paco’s cat, for a day. I was exhausted – having Haley with me had been amazing, but so much happened, so many painkillers taken, so many feet of altitude lost within seven seconds, so much chili relleno consumed, that I just needed a break.
