Drawing When I was little I always got tired of hearing, “Keep practicing, practice every day!” Artist everywhere said like it was a script they read off of or something. I still get a little angry when I hear those words. Yes its great advice and actually works, surprisingly. But that’s what you have to do, no matter how boring and life draining it is. To start off, I started drawing when I was 6 or 7 yrs old. I forced my mother to teach me how to draw Mickey Mouse. “Can you teach me how to draw?” I repeatedly asked her. My mom is an excellent artist. When she taught me, I learned quickly and kept practicing and got better fairly quickly. Next, about 3yrs later when I was in the 4th Grade I met my soon to be X best friend

I also began to get more in involved in after school clubs such as the National Art Honor Society and the SmART Club where we did several art projects every week. Creating art is my passion; I have always wanted to become a great artist ever since I was a child drawing on my walls and copying pictures from books. I have devoted my life to improving my talents by illustrating my own stories, practicing drawing daily, and challenging myself to earning my own money doing what I love by drawing commissions. Learning how to communicate through illustration is a valuable skill that will live with me for the rest of my life and progressing my artist career.…

I have dabbled with art ever since I was a toddler. I would draw anywhere I went: school, home, and even at church. It started out as a hobby, but soon, I immersed myself into the world of art by integrating art with medicine. I have always found medical dramas to be particularly intriguing. Developing into this interest, I started writing my own medical journal, where I took notes from a book called Gray’s Anatomy and from the medical dramas I watched.…

For my media product, I chose to do a storyboard on a bristol board. I settled on the storyboard because I am more familiar with it. Additionally, with the time that I had, I would not be able to make an exceptional 3-D creation and a CD would have been difficult for me. I had to choose an important chapter in the novel, create a storyboard, and explain it’s significance. Choosing the chapter was not very difficult because all the parts in the novel were important in their own way.…

I and my friends, Dexter and Peter, were playing around an ancient, abandoned mansion on the outskirts of the city. There was a sign on the perimeter fence “Enter, at your own risk!”. However, curiosity arose us and we picked the rusty lock, granting us entry into the sacred place of the unknown. I unlocked the door, to my horror, scarce bones, were precariously hanging, from the ceiling above. There was a sudden rush of blood from my head to my toes as the door behind us swung shut.…

In the world of comic books, graphic novels and manga, I have acquired my love for these types of reading for entertainment, but learning from the course of Reading Graphic Narratives, I learned to not only value the text or only the drawings when reading these types of texts, but to instead value both text and drawings to compile the meaning of the whole story. Another meaningful detail I learned in this course was, video games and graphic novels both share the elements of text and visual art. Even though video games are a type of media that give you audio, text and images, there will always be more to what meets the eye or ears, when playing a video game. Third, meaningful detail I learned in this course was, when a drawing style is more…
