Personal Narrative: Do People Need Gun Control Laws

Improved Essays
Our lives need protecting. What if there’s a dangerous criminal? Guns shouldn’t be banned, people need them for protection. Plus it wouldn’t be fair to ban all guns if people really need them. People could probably die if we didn’t have guns. Guns save lives everyday and saves them anywhere you can think of.

People need to be safe. What if an intruder came into your home and he/she is stealing your things and trying to kill you? I think a gun should be provided in that case. As an adult I think you should protect anything and everything in your power in my opinion.

Imagine a life without one. The world would probably have less criminals but they can still use knives, and everything else you can think of. So why don’t we just ban

I don 't agree with the argument of banning gun laws. I don 't agree with because when the government bans gun laws they banned it from the wrong people there for increasing the crime rate.. For example when they set new laws the only ones that follow it are the good the people the people that use guns for self defense. While the “bad people” don 't follow the law and continue to use the guns. Therefor if everyone had hand guns no one would really mess with others because they know if they talk smack to them they will get shot…

Another advantage of outlawing guns is that the streets would be safer. Guns should only be legal to use by police officers in case of emergency situation like catching a thief. Some people own a gun without license and used them for wrong purpose. However, people on the streets aren’t safe due to these situations. For example, the robbers came and by showing guns they steal money and cell phones on the street, and because of a gun nobody just came to help that person at that time or the racists who came with guns and shoot children and people on the street without any…

If guns are banned and the law-abiding citizens are obeying the law, then when the criminals attempt to commit a crime, it is going to be much easier for them to get away with it because the average citizen is not going to have any way to protect his or herself. According to NRA’s mantra, “[the] only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun” (Hughes). So, not only does banning guns make it easier for a criminal to commit a crime, but it also disseminates any chance of stopping the criminal from committing the…

In America, there is a growing perception that guns are: they are harmful, they kill, and they commit crimes, and so most guns should be banned. But, how can a gun kill or commit crimes; it is not a living thing, it is a tool. With the use of guns, America has grown to be a strong and independent country throughout history. The push to ban guns will only keep guns away from law abiding citizens since criminals, by nature, do not follow laws and respect the gun free zones. The banning of guns in America should end.…

After obtaining guns, children and adults collect them and proceed to improve their accuracy in shooting, but getting rid of them would make the world a dangerous place. Many people who believe that guns are the leading cause of death in the United States, are incorrect. A gun is not a person, it has no feelings nor can it move on its own it cannot be personified nor be blamed for any of the actions. A gun must be wielded by a person and that person is the one responsible for pulling the trigger. If guns were banned and somehow a criminal couldn’t get his hand on one illegally, they can still kill.…

In fact, owning a gun can actually be more safe than not having one. It can bring a sense of security to your home knowing that you have some sort of protection. Someone who is properly trained can safely protect their house and family from anyone trying to harm them while not having to worry about any accidents happening. Everyone hears of those accidental shootings once in awhile, but how much blame can we put on guns? Car accidents happen every day but no one blames cars, so we shouldn’t blame guns.…
