Personal Narrative: Do I Feel The Same Way

Do I Feel the Same Way? As Mrs.Jan, my piano teacher, recalls the story of her relationship with her husband, Mr. Sam, I could see the emotions she was feelings years ago as she recalls the years she spent trying to gather the right feelings for her now husband. “Honestly I just wanted to be left alone at first,” said a conflicted Mrs. Jan. She and her husband met over 47 years ago as teenagers in the same Christian church. Now don't get it wrong; Just because they met so long ago and are still together, it doesn't mean that the love came immediately from Mrs. Jan. She was 17 at the time and Mr. Sam was 19 when they first met. And that day, she knew that his eyes on were her and Mrs. Jan wasn't quite sure she liked having someone who she didn't like back look at her in such a way. Mrs. Jan’s life was predictable. Jan learnt many new lessons on this conflicting journey that she had to face. Her own feelings were her personal demons and the way she combated them truly shows that she deserves to be considered as a hero. Surrendering yourself to God is a very perilous task that I could never see myself doing and the way she surrendered herself to God amazed me. Her journey showed her and taught me not to underestimate the power of God and that if you can get the courage to let yourself go to God, God will for sure surprise you at the end of the finish line with something that no human mind could ever dream of comprehending. Her journey reminded me that if something is wrong in my life to not question ‘why’ because at the end, it will all make sense because God has a greater purpose for you. The daunting feelings she had to face all by herself truly showed me what it’s like to deal with your inner demons and the courage she had to deal with them shows that she will go in my history book as a
