Furthermore, Mallory has to craft a yearly communication plan that ensures all public records and media requests are in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code. I then asked Mallory to explain who or what she manages daily and she replied “my daily responsibilities include reputation management of the district, both on and offline.” I felt this accurately summed up Mallory’s position, keeping the district in a favorable light and bringing the community into the classroom. She also mentioned that district communication is first previewed by her before being sent. Finally, I asked Mallory how technology plays a role in her position. It was not surprising that Mallory replied, “It’s a huge role in my position!” Considering her job description and responsibilities it was clear that technology would be a large part of her job. She mentioned utilizing web sites, social media outlets, email, and teacher portals.
