As a child, my parents shaped me into their ideal image of a little girl. The formation of their ideals actually started long before I first opened my eyes in the hospital. My story began back in 1988, when my parents met while working at Walt Disney World as cultural exchange workers from Canada. Their romance is a fairy tale. They had their first date at the Magic Kingdom, they spent all their days off on a Florida beach, and they experienced the technical magic that Disney is so well-known for.…

My experiences over the last six years living in NYC have shaped me into the approachable and compassionate person I am today. I have been immersed in a melting pot with many different culturally and economically diverse populations. These unique experiences have broadened my horizons and allowed me to gain valuable communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I searched out opportunities to give back and help the people in my community both in volunteering in hospitals, educating high school students, and interning in private practices. I even traveled with the organization Medlife, setting up a medical clinic to provide basic medical care and education to people in the poor and underserved communities surrounding Lima, Peru.…

If Steve Harvey had asked me to tell him my story, I would tell him about my determination and leadership. I came from a small private school and throughout my years of sports, I fell in love with volleyball. If I had walked into tryouts without putting in any of the work I had put in, I wouldn't have made it. I worked five days a week for at least three hours whether it be private lessons at nine at night or open gyms early in the morning. While doing this I managed volunteering at a summer camp five days a weeks from seven in the morning to three in the afternoon.…

I’ve always had the impression that fairytales were innocent stories of finding true love and living happily ever after, like the way Disney depicted them to be. I never thought about where these stories came from and the different themes and symbols that were relevant of that time. Some of the things I’ve learned about fairytales have not only shocked me, but has also made me reevaluate everything I know about fairytales. Something I never knew about fairytales is that they weren’t always for children. I’ve always associated them with a younger audience so thinking that these stories were written for adults enjoyment is really crazy to believe.…
