Personal Narrative: Discovery Place

Decent Essays
Each of us, with 4 kids in tow went to Discovery Place. As I pushed at least one or 2 in a stroller, my other kids were clinging to me, you were pushing a stroller as well, except your kids weren’t holding on to you and that didn’t seem to faze you. I was extremely worried one of your kids would get hit by a car or someone could kidnap them. Afterwards, we went to McDonalds and your kids ran across the parking lot, which of course, gave me a panic attack, but it didn’t seem unsettling to you. Upon arriving inside, your kids actually ordered their own food. I wasn’t sure this relationship would work. I had some serious OCD and you were so laid back!

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

My experience with the after school book club at Madison Elementary today was an exciting yet my patience was tested by a seven year old little boy named Jose. Today I was excited to see if my group would enjoy the book, “Where the Wild Things Are,” due to the fact everyone agreed they enjoy reading adventure books. Consequently, one of my group members, Jose, had already read the book and watched the movie and let the whole group know it was “boring.” Already bored he instantly lost interest in the book and the group and was making it known by distracting the other group members around him. Usually his partner in crime, Gilbert, agrees with him and goes along with him but this time was different and he ignored his friend because he was actually…

Growing up, I lived in quite a few places as a result of my parents’ divorce. The neighborhood I lived most of my life, and still live in, is in New Market, Maryland. I live with my father on a tranquil golf course surrounded by large evergreens, close to a large lake known as Lake Linganore. I have always loved living here, especially when the wind would pick up and breeze through the trees and the crisp blades of the manicured grass. My favorite activity is to walk with my dog along the golfing path, and observe the scenery of the landscape with the forested mountains along the horizon.…
