As a person whose English is not my first language I can say this class is helping me a lot to develop my writing abilities. I experienced a hard times when I came to the United States two years ago. I knew very little English before I start my high school, but I was able to get the support I needed at that time from my high school. I developed my writing skills during my senior year and I did a great job in all my writing projects for the English class that I was taking. I think this class is giving me a good start for the other classes that I have to take through my time in college. It really helps me when I use it during my writing assignments, because I use it as a guide to have a better paper. Through the GAPCaT I learned how to focus on the matter that I would like to write about without losing my point. Knowing who I’m writing to was also one of the things that I had difficulties with, but now I can say I have learned how to make that work. Since I’m new to college and it is totally a different experience from high school, I had to learn how to contact my professors through emails. This class taught me how to write emails to my professors in the most effective ways and also how to avoid making mistakes and writing about unnecessary …show more content…
After having my paper reviewed by my peers I think it becomes more understandable in most ways. I made different type of errors through this semester with almost all my projects. The errors that I have experienced were like: grammar, punctuations, and typo errors, but after making a peer-review I was able to make all the adjustments I needed to get a better grade on the paper. Peer-revision helped me add different ideas into my papers, after talking to my peers and shared with them all the things I wanted to include on my paper and I didn’t know how to put my ideas into words, they helped me with
