Though I knew most of what she told me it was still nice to just sit and talk about her life experiences. My mother was born to older parents and was the youngest of three children.…

“If a woman cannot stay home with her children, then maybe she just should not have them!” Natosha Keller, my mother, is a stay at home mom who believes if a woman were to have children, her number one priority should be to take care of her children and not have to worry about anything else. On the other hand there are other mothers who do not have a choice to being a stay at home mom, and they have to work to support their family. Making the decision to stay with your children or join the workforce can be a difficult process. For a lot of parents it is damaging for them to be away from their children for more than a few hours a day, and that is a big reason why we have stay at home moms.…

It's that time of year again and complete mayhem has broken out in the house. The attic door swings open, exploding with a heaping ball of dust. The smell of moth balls emanates throughout the space as a rickety old ladder wobbles back and forth. Suddenly, lawn chairs drop from the hole in the ceiling, followed by box fans, fishing poles, and sleeping bags. The hum of the air compressor vibrates the garage walls as many giant pink flamingos come to life, barricading the kitchen door.…

I knew her health was not the best; however, the diagnosed health problems were not what killed her.…

I decided to interview my mom for this paper because she has had a significant role in my upbringing and she means a lot to me. Since my mom and I are very close, like best friend status, I already knew a lot about her which made the interviewing process much easier. My mom and I share a lot of the same views on many issues but have differing views on a few, especially under the diversity category. I live at home with my mom and father and so I see my mom everyday which is one reason why our viewpoints are similar, so we can both avoid cognitive dissonance and it makes the day to day living more manageable.…

My mother always told me I had a “bad” sense of humor. watching someone fall or slip or dive into pavement always has the ability to put me into tears (tears of joy of course). So if you are anything like my mother my story may not seem funny to you but if you are anything like me I hope you are spreading contagious laughter. It was the middle of football season so the weather was still warm but not warm enough that you could wear shorts comfortably. I was hanging out at my friends house and we were just talking about life.…
