As a father he expected his children to be home at curfew. If they arrived a minute later they were locked out for the night. He was also picky when it came to cleaning. After the kids cleaned, if he could run his finger on a surface and find dust or it was not to his expectations, he would make them redo the whole procedure again. Even in his older age he is strict. At a Christmas breakfast I had to eat out in the cold, as snow covered the ground, because he would not allow my puppy in his house. He is very humble and makes sure that everything he does goes to the glory of God. Before our annual Christmas dinners, he reads the Christmas story aloud to the whole family. He is constantly praying or thanking God for what He has done. He has been the music director at his church for as long as I can remember and used to help with the church youth group when my dad was a teenager.
