Detective Darrel Jones was driving past blocks of businesses on the main route into town and everything looked normal. Nothing big happens on day shift in this area of town but at night the reports start coming in. The temperature was warm 105 degrees and the clear blue sky made it a perfect day. Detective Jones plans to retire in 8 years when he is 51 years old and move to Florida with his wife. Their two kids should be in college or married and with the pension and savings he will be relaxing on the beach away from the lives they have now. He liked to wear good looking clothes on duty in the office and in the SUV patrolling. He had pride representing the police force. The dark colored permanent pressed pants and short sleeve maroon color permanent pressed dress shirt were fine for meeting the business owners along the road.

He wanted to meet up with another officer after work there to discuss a fund raiser for a wounded cop they both knew years ago who was in the hospital. The officer was hit with a baseball bat on a domestic violence call. Since then he had surgeries but never returned to work. Jones wanted to start the fund to pay the extra medical bills not covered by insurance. The pizza was later and he looked forward to the end of the shift.
Headquarters got a call from the new bank in town concerning a big serial bank robber and they told them they would send a unit by. They reported a possible serial bank robber on their video. It was a possible lead in a big case. The manager thought it was worth reviewing. The guy was there 30 minutes watching people use the ATM. He drove away and returned this time going inside watching the tellers and personal banking representative work for 5 minutes. The bank has a good view of his facial features for comparison.
