Crazy Roller Coasters

Ahhhhh!!! Why did I do this? Why do you guys like this? On May, 26 2016 My older brothers, who are adrenaline junkies, are trying to talk me into going on The Titan, at Six Flags over Texas. My brothers kept saying “come on it’s not scary at all”. “Yeah right” I said, my brothers always lie to me. They just want to scare me. This annoying situation left me with two options, to give in and ride, the tallest ride at Six Flags over Texas, The Titan, or whine until they stop bugging me. If I give in to them and ride the Titan I would have a heart attack. I wouldn’t die from falling off the ride, I would die during the ride from a heart attack. Doesn’t that option just sound like so much fun. On the plus side, that would

A few years ago, on a class trip, my friends had asked me to ride at least one roller coaster. It was not a large roller coaster, but it made me queasy just looking at it. I was confident that I would be able to go on and enjoy the experience. My confidence quickly evaporated when we began climbing up the roller coaster’s first hill. The ride dropped, and I was screaming so loudly that I could only hear myself.…

I remember the gut wrenching feeling in my stomach as my best friend and I approached the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Hershey Park, called SkyRush. I am not sure why I agreed to go on this roller coaster, considering most of the time at amusement parks I entertain myself with food, and miniature rides that stay level to the ground. Unlike me, my friend liked the rush and heart dropping feeling of being at the apex of a roller coaster and then dropping down at maximum speed. Personally, I preferred the ground, where I remained in full control of my own safety. Yet that afternoon I found myself standing in line for SkyRush.…

I keep telling my friends “is this part of the ride?” Then the lights started flashing on and off. They keep laughing and laughing and then the rollercoaster started to shake. Then we hear a voice from the manager of the rollercoaster saying “ Something is wrong with the rollercoaster, please be patient.” While my friends think its a joke.…

Sometimes in life, one has to take chances. I was not sure of that until I strapped myself down in the scariest rollercoaster at Six Flags Fiesta amusement park. My heart was running a marathon as the ride climbed to the peak. My sweaty palms were glued on the back of a passenger’s headrest. My life was depending on it.…

In fact, if you have a fear that is just as bad as riding a roller coaster you can get over it, just like humans watch horror movies the face their fears and overcome them. Another example, in “Why We Crave Horror” Stephen King states that “horror movies may not surprise a scream out of us at some point, the way we may scream when the roller coaster twist through a complete 360 or plows through a lake at the bottom drop”(King “Why We Crave” 2). This explains that yes a scary movie can make you scared or afraid, but a roller coaster can make you feel scared but excited at the same…

So this meant that my brother and sister got to sit in the very front of the roller coaster car, and my dad and I were right behind them. When we got in, it seemed like no time had passed from when we got in the line, to when we were seated in the ride getting ready for a moment that I would never forget. We waited for about 30 seconds for the workers to make sure everybody was strapped in safely. When the carts then started down this tiny slope to a straight away over the water. I was a mix of scared and excited for the ride.…

They tricked me into going onto X-flight. If you did not know, X-flight is a crazy scary roller coaster that goes fifty five miles per hour as well as having loopty loops and barrel rolls. It was even featured on a show called Insane Coaster Wars in twenty twelve. To a normal person, this seems like a fun and adrenaline pumping ride that you need to go on.…

Then the third gate was the worst, who could hear people screaming their heads off, and feel the ground shake like there was an earthquake, and it was our turn next!!! I was TERRIFIED, Claire had fingernail marks in her arm, and as our cart emptied of the people before us, I got light headed, I vaguely remember getting in and buckled. I started to take deep breaths I was starting to feel better when I felt how secure the harnesses were. But then we started to move, at first it was okay, slow and easy going around the first corner, but then I saw the unbelievable hill that was 170 ft tall, this ride brakes 7 different records in the world and one is it’s got the longest drop for a wing coaster!!! Slowly climbing to the top, felt longer than the car ride!…

The day was gloomy and cloudy with a chance of lightning on the way. Woke up, feeling nauseous and a bit scared thinking about the huge rides I was to encounter. I could still remember all of the videos I watched the day before and they weren’t making my situation any better. One video showed a slingshot ride preparing to launch two kids and the cable snaps, hitting the floor with enough force to break cement. When I watched those videos I felt as if that would happen to me, my brother and my friends.…

There was no time for a break, we were off to the next one. By “one”, I mean roller coaster, but this wasn’t just any other roller coaster, this was the Dragster. The record breaking, rapid and towering Dragster which was located at the amusement park Cedar Point, in Ohio. I watched my friends walk briskly in front of me anticipating the next thrill. We were walking with Baylee in front, Abby following her, Tiffany next, Megan after her, and Alyssa dragging behind with me.…

What a fantastic birthday present this was going to be. The excitement swelled up inside me alongside the panicky feelings you get anticipating most high energy thrill rides. We began lining up for what could feel like hundreds of rides and were well entertained by most. Starting off with some good old woodies (wooden roller coasters), my Dad and I made multiple rounds riding many of the same coasters 2 or 3 times in that one day. The wooden coasters were most…

Seven years ago, my friends and I went to an amusement park and like any other young child, I couldn’t wait to ride every single rollercoaster there was. I loved each one, irrespective of the number of loops it had or how fast it went. However, this changed when I got on one called the drop-tower. As the name suggests, it was a monstrous tower that carries riders up in a gondola to the top of the tower and then suddenly the gondola drops down. In seconds, it dropped me 100 feet down in the air, as I heard the echoes of a hundred-people screaming.…
