Personal Narrative: Country Music

These were on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. The album as a whole I will rank at the end after presenting all my points. Country music it's beautiful when sung right and no it's not just about cheating on your wife and drinking beer. Justin does a pretty good job presenting himself in the country manner he goes slow enough to where you can always understand him and has that slow southern drawl. I wouldn’t say that he is exactly from right down in the backwoods like one of his songs sings but he is from Little Rock AR a decent sized town but knowing people from there I’m sure he got out of the city limits. Now that we know about Justin and where he came from let's get into his album a little bit and see what we can come up with. As a whole the …show more content…
I know that those are some of the best memories we all make and I know that they make us who we are and whether you got caught drinking, or got caught havin a little too much fun in your pickup was it worth it….hell ya. song gets 4 out of 5
Small town USA is the song about the american small town where everyone knows everyone and it's pretty quiet except friday nights and Saturday afternoons. This song we can relate to because we know exactly what Justin is talking about because we can relate right to it. However this song is outstanding not all of us get hammered every Friday and Saturday night. So that is why this song lost a star because he got off of being right on that right there. Song gets 4 of

This shows in the music and in this review songs like Backwoods, Good ole’ American way and I could kick myself. I debated on the last it would receive two and a half if i could but it did earn 3 because I like what he’s tryin to say. Backwoods is a song where you have to be in the mood for it because it’s very fast paced and there's a lot to take in but in parts of the song it sounds like they almost lost beat because it's not very steady. If you were in the mood for a fast country song this is the one but you're not always ready for it. Good ole’ American way this song is too much like small town usa that he sings and this topic has been beat to death by country artists so it gets three because is still ok. I could kick myself (your ass) is a decent song and has a funny kind of message about a guy that's basically mad at a movie star for running his mouth all the time and how he’s gonna kick his a@*. Funny entertaining but not country music 3 of

While country music as a whole is acquiring the rock and roll industry, there is one young and rising artist who isn’t yet headlining the shows or filling the stadiums like “the greats,” but has the potential to make a profound impact on both country and rock and roll. Thomas Rhett, the twenty-six-year-old son of famed country artist Rhett Akins, is capable of making a profound impact on music and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame of 2041, for he is versatile, young, and very talented (Silva 2016). Thomas Rhett recently released an album, and has had very promising results, charting many singles ("Thomas Rhett - Biography"). However, Rhett is rather new in the country scheme, which is flooded with talented artists attempting to capitalize on the new…

Listening to the selections I found they all generally appeal to me though others have more of an immediate preference than others. A genuine love for music creates an appreciation for all genres. One can respect or acknowledge the environment from which it was produced, its purpose, and the skill of the musician(s). I particularly became fond of The Andrew Sisters after experiencing the song “The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”. I recall hearing it from a television commercial vaguely, but it was a completely new thing to see and hear them perform it.…
