Considering my professional experience, I can say that a school principal who cares about his teachers is paramount to the success not only of the teachers but also of the students and all staff members. A few years ago, I worked for a school whose principal was always putting together meetings to discuss with all of us about best professional development courses that he had in mind to offer. He used to do that to ask us if we agreed with his ideas, give us an opportunity to express our concerns and success experiences in classes. Also, she would observe our classes as often as possible, not to criticize but to give us some new ideas and sometimes eulogize our work.
