My studies over the last nine+ weeks have taught me some new information and reminded me of some information I knew but had been long buried and I’d gotten complacent with.
Our Course Outcomes and my learning experiences are as follows:
• Evaluate basic communication theory and concepts as a foundation for conveying messages through traditional and new media formats
Learning the basic communication theories and concepts and evaluating their merit gives me a better understanding of how people communicate. As I watch communication going on around me, I think about the models we've learned and how those models apply to the communication I'm currently watching or viewing on the Internet.
As a communications professional I will use these theories to evaluate my own communications and determine my efficacy, both as I write and as I speak.

Studying the positive and negative effects of both will enlighten my own communication choices as a communications professional.
• Evaluate digital media as a tool for collaborating with cross-cultural, networked audiences at the global level
The organization One Laptop Per Child provides low-cost, Web-enabled, computers with all free open-source software to children in developing parts of the world. This organization makes it possible for these children to experience the knowledge availability of the Internet the same way kids in the US do and a cross-cultural understanding there unconnected peers simply won't get. The future of my graduate studies will remain focused on communicating about sustainability and a large part of sustainability is understanding how other people live, accepting that there are other ways of doing things, and making conscious choices to consider other points of
