It was the summer of 2014. We were on the plane heading to Sacramento, California, as we did every summer. I loved spending my summers in California with my grandparents. We always had a blast together. This year, one thing was different. Instead of going to my grandparents house we were going straight to the hospital. My grandfather laid on the bed in the frigid hospital room. He had had Colon Cancer for three years now. I was thrilled to see him. It had been a year since we had last seen each other. We had tried our best to keep in touch, but I really missed him. He had always been someone who was there for me. He never left my side through thick and thin.
