Personal Narrative: Colegio Montano

Decent Essays
Three years ago, I moved to another school, called "Colegio Montano", there I met too many people, I remember one day, one girl called Pilar asked me for a piece of paper, but I didn't had any, that day in recess, we started talking, and we became really good friends.

But then, she told me nobody liked her because some people said she was annoying, for me, she wasn't, so I told her she was an amaging person and do not pay attention to them.

Two months later we had a lot of confidence, one day we were eating burritos at the cafeteria, suddenly one girl who I had never seen before, asked if she could sit with us, we said "yes of course" her name is April, also she told us she got on a fight with one of her friends.

After all, she was so nice

The narrative of Benito Cereno can be defined in three parts: the first part is told from a third person limited point of view, the second part is Cereno’s deposition to the court, and the third section is a brief conclusion of the narrative. In the first part, the narrator is placed outside the story and our knowledge is confined to what Captain Delano knows. The third person limited point of view is a common approach in mystery narratives and it keeps the readers in the dark as to what exactly has happened and is happening. The narrator’s perspective told in free indirect style, blurs with Delano’s perspective, allowing us to identify and differentiate the two. And again, the narrative blurring emphasizes and dramatizes the greyness and ambiguity…

Everyday after finishing my homework, I would go to the piano and pick up where I’d left off in “Sonate Pathétique” the previous night. It’d been a couple of months since the day I first played it, and I’d managed to greatly improve as a result of the countless hours I spent practicing. That night, I was determined to play through the entire first movement without committing a single mistake. Unlike many of my friends, I had a very meticulous mentality. Everything I did had to be done with the utmost care and precision because to me, nothing beat quality work.…

Francisco Castellanos: Finishing Strong “I didn’t really meet my dad until I came to the U.S. at the age of six or seven. I know that he visited me while I was in Mexico with my family, but I have no special memories of him when I was a young kid. Meeting him in the U.S., going to San Jose, California to work for a year, and then coming back to Los Angeles, always following the job, one of the things that happened during this time frame was that we lived with my oldest brother Alfredo. In this household, I remember my mom and dad sleeping in one bedroom, my brother Alfredo and his wife and son sleeping in the other bedroom, and my brother Miguel, my sister Maria, myself, and a cousin of mine who had also migrated to the U.S. sleeping in the…

Rob and I found this beautiful Spanish style 20's club chair at Goodwill in the heart of Pasadena's antique row. It was like $180.00. We weren't sure if we LOVED IT, so we went and had breakfast to think about this purchase. We decided that we'd buy it if it was still there, and it was after several hours. We managed to squeeze it into our trunk with a the help of a random stranger, who used his new to him belt that he just bought to help tie it down.…

“Life is like an ocean. It can be calm or still, rough or rigid, but in the end, it is always beautiful” - anonymous I experienced one of these days in beautiful Montana, at the lake with my best friend, Cole Moberly. It was a reposeful morning with a slight chill in the air, and all you could hear was the sweet sound of the clear blue waves in the lake. Cole and I were expecting an entertaining day at the lake catching loads of fish, then going back to my family's RV and enjoying some s'mores, (like what we always do.)Making it the best 24 hours of my life. However, you can’t always get what you want, because nothing ever happens the way you want it to.…

High school is hard enough with the pressure of maintaining an above average GPA, extracurricular activities, a social life, and the responsibilities at home. The last thing any high school student wants or needs is to be the talk of the school because of an invasion of their privacy but it has happened to both males and females across the world. I’ve seen the outcome of what sexting leads to about two years ago. In my tenth grade homeroom, I always sat by the same girl every day. We never talked to one another because she hung with a different crowd that wasn’t quite friendly.…

A writing experience that has stood out the most for me was when I was a sophomore in High School. There was a girl in my class who I wasn't so fond of who one day decided to announce to everyone that she had begun to write her own stories. She showed everyone pieces of her writings expecting to get nothing but compliments and be to deemed the class writer, but when she finally showed me her work I cringed at how deplorable it was. The stories had no clear perspective of whether it was written in first person or third person view, some of the simplest of words were spelled wrong, and many words were used in the wrong context. The class didn't seem to care for her stories so they just gave standard responses with no words for…
