Personal Narrative: Cole Moberly

“Life is like an ocean. It can be calm or still, rough or rigid, but in the end, it is always beautiful” - anonymous I experienced one of these days in beautiful Montana, at the lake with my best friend, Cole Moberly.
It was a reposeful morning with a slight chill in the air, and all you could hear was the sweet sound of the clear blue waves in the lake. Cole and I were expecting an entertaining day at the lake catching loads of fish, then going back to my family's RV and enjoying some s'mores, (like what we always do.)Making it the best 24 hours of my life. “Yeah, of course I do,” Cole replied in an alacrity way.
After leaving a note about where we were going, then having an fantastic bowl of cereal, we started to adventure out to the lake. The day was beautiful and I couldn’t wait to get to the chilly waters. When we got close, the smell of the water made me feel right at home. I started searching the deserted area, a disappointing feeling came up in my gut. And I could tell Cole had the same feeling because of his unsatisfied look that came upon his face.
Starting out I got a couple of bites, but as soon as I started dragging one of them in, the rest scattered. Cole hasn't even gotten a hook on one fish. The hours passed by and we still didn’t have any fish, and I couldn't get my stomach to stop grumbling for food. After a while my legs started to ache, and stiffen up from standing in one place for what felt like a century. Needing a break from an uneventful morning, I got Cole to agree that it was the perfect time for lunch.
