Personal Narrative: Coaching My School's First Lego League

A large portion of my volunteer time is dedicated to coaching my school’s First Lego League team. FLL is a robotics program where team members learn to create computer programs, effective engineering principals, and build problem solving skills. Our team meets twice a week for three hours after school to focus on solving a set of challenges given to us by the competition. In addition to our weekly meeting times I have continued to build my own understanding of robotics and the FLL program at various meetings of FLL coaches throughout the state. This dedication to helping Cottonwood’s FLL team succeed really paid off when we advanced to the state championship as a rookie team!
