Personal Narrative: Coach Gunther

One act that I did for a teacher was in the preschool for Ms. Campbell. There was a stack of messy papers in the back of the classroom so I organized them into a neat stack. Ms. Campbell was grateful for this deed, I asked her how it looked and she said “ it looks great, it’s so much better! Thank you!” Doing this act made me proud knowing that I could help her. This act also made me glad that I could do the act for her and she wouldn’t have to do it herself or worry about it any longer. Another act that I did was for Coach Gunther, during his 7th period baseball class I filled up the water jug with ice and water. Not only was Coach Gunther grateful for this act, but the baseball players as well. Coach Gunther showed no hesitation towards signing …show more content…
My mom and I were at the dollar store and the carts have a pole so you can’t take them out of the store, when walking outside the door I noticed a lady trying to get the cart out the door so I went back knowing the cart had to stay inside and I asked if she would like help with carrying her things to the car. As I helped the lady with her items she thanked me numerous times and was very grateful. This made me feel like I was a good person for helping her because if I just let her struggle to get her things to the car I wouldn’t have been able to stop regretting it. This kind deed made me want to do more kind deeds for people, looking for nothing in return but the gratefulness of them. Another act outside of Sandia that I did was throw away used plates at a BBQ once I knew they were done. When I saw they had finished eating I asked, “Are you guys done? Can I take your plates for you?” At first they were hesitant, not wanting me to have to pick up after them, but I ensured them that it was no big deal. When I got up to throw the plates both my cousin and her boyfriend were grateful and told me thank you many times. I was glad that I could throw their trash so that they could enjoy being outside. Doing this deed made me want to become less shy so that it is easier for me to do things like that on a daily basis and without

I’ve been cleaning up the beach since I was ten, always bringing a trash bag along with my buckets and shovels. It was nice to be a part of an organized event and to work with other people who share the same love for the ocean and care about the health of the beach as much as I do. We walked from 67th to 82nd avenue which at first, I thought it was going to be an overwhelming amount of walking, but it really wasn’t that bad and overall I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Even though what we did that day did have some immediate effect, the preponderant impact and fruit will take longer to achieve. But I know that every time, I see a new neighborhood or a new school or even a new hotel being built around this area, I’ll know I preformed a small act that contributed to its creation.…

Since we had a table for my mom’s charity, I helped run the event. About an hour before the event we came to the area and set up the bags, frosting, cake mix, and the other supplies. Two of my friends helped me out, and my mom was there.…

I asked her if she needed help and took her groceries to her car, a feel like a majority of kids today would have walked right on by. I would think of myself as a bad person with bad morals if I kept walking. I, however, believe in helping other people should come before helping yourself. This is why I believe I’m a moral person who exhibits good…

Although no one saw this side of me, in fear of being looked down upon, I was once a very fearful person. I was as apprehensive as a germaphobe in a hospital. One of the activities I do that is substantial to me is volunteering as a Kettle Host during Winter for the Salvation Army. Through Christmas Kettles, I collect donations from the society to help give back to the less fortunate in our community. What volunteering for the Salvation Army has taught me is that even the smallest effort can make a tremendous impact. When I first started off as a volunteer, I did not feel motivated enough to believe what I was doing would truly have an impact. I had this mindset which led me to believe that the happenings in our community did not concern me, although, I began to have a change of opinion as I kept volunteering.…

Volunteering at the homeless shelter is one of my favorite things to do. A few weeks ago, on a serene Saturday morning, my family and I volunteered at Loaves and Fishes. It was special to see just the sheer amount of people who had come out to volunteer on that Saturday. If you think about, they could’ve been doing anything on that Saturday morning. Yet, they decided to help give back to their community.…
