Personal Narrative: Classic In Arcadia

Improved Essays
Last winter over Christmas break, I went on a hog hunt down in Texas. It was lots of fun and I am glad I got the chance to go. Here is how I got the chance to go. One night, my grandpa and I went to a Whitetails Classic in Arcadia. We had just walked in the building and had saw that there was a bunch of people in the line to get their tickets, so we got in the line and waited to get our tickets as well. We had finally got our tickets, so we walked around and looked at everything they had at the classic. After we got done looking at everything, it was time to eat. I went and got in the line as fast as I could because I was very hungry. When it was time, the big old guy was going to draw the tickets and I had one of the tickets that he had drawn.

She had always loved the feeling of blood on my face, even when it wasn't mine. She was the night sky, a vast amount of darkness with holes all over that couldn't be stitched together. That's why I hid her under the bed so no one would ever find her, because if they ever did I would have to put them to sleep too. Her eyes were equanimity, I had to keep them in a jar beside me every night. They were the colour of an unencumbered rose , lost due to perfidiousness.…

We’re hurried down the street by Ans’ mother, practically running to keep up with Ans’ long strides and quick pace. All along the street, people poke their heads out, confused, though some are well on their way, the ones with work, I presume. The streets are soon crowded with mother and fathers, elderly men and women, teens and babies, small children and young adults. Now, we are no longer moving of our own accord, rather being swept along by the tide of human flesh. Now is the perfect time, I know pickpockets must be in the midst of this crowd, searching for an opportunity, and I believe I might have found one.…

The tone of Noel's voice in reply was one that few would have expected. It did not have the bravado one might have expected from a media darling (albeit a fallen one) nor the slightly spacey, wavering intonation of those that are fighting to hold onto what remains of their sanity. Nor, for that matter, did it contain the aggression that he had so often used against Dr Walt, whom he somewhat resented, for the doctor forced him to remember things he'd rather not. Instead, it might almost have been described as... ...shy! "Please, Delilah, come in," he said, standing back, making it obvious he was giving her plenty of personal space. "…

A fleck of dust dances in the silence of the room, broken only by soft, rhythmic breaths. The speck abandons itself in the apparently motionless air, enlightened for just a moment by a ray of sunlight which filters through the not perfectly closed curtain. It crosses the room, ending it’s long journey on a pillow of the bed leaning against the opposite wall. It takes only a few minutes for the rising sun to beam directly in Clarke’s eye.…

Three weeks on intense apartment hunting, we found one that allowed children, was an amazing price, was in a good neighborhood, and it was furnished; meaning that it came with furniture. As a result of this, we didn’t have to hire a moving company. All we had was Blair’s toys and her type of furniture, so we just put it in the back of Antonio’s truck. The apartment was around 45 minutes away from the motel we were staying in, so I felt pretty safe that we would not wind up in the same area that we came from. When we finally arrived at the apartment, I was nearly crying from joy.…
