The course received its very first Fall frost on November 20th, and those chilling temperatures gave way, to a little needed golf time-out for the upcoming holiday festivities. Speaking of festivities, the 9-hole ladies celebrated their annual Christmas Lunch on December 3rd, and lunch wouldn't be complete without the beautiful table decor created by our lovely Suzanne Schmitz. Lori Randall captured our attention at lunch too, with a slide show collection of our current season and pictures from decades long ago. Lori has proven to be a wonderful golf historian and 9-hole photographer. Way to go, Lori.

There is something special about a golf course in the morning. Over the last 5 years, I have spent a lot of mornings on a golf course. Before I got my driver’s license I would have my grandparents take me to the golf course in the morning and get picked up later in the day. Once I got my license, I would drive to the course early in the morning and be one of the first people out on the course so I would have the entire course to myself to practice on. As a sophomore in high school, I got a job at a golf course.…

The Trip to the Grocery Store I haven’t seen him in weeks or maybe even months, I thought as I glared across the small distance between where I was standing and my dad’s car. With my One Direction CD clutched in my hands, I started to close the distance by walking towards his car. I opened the door and slipped in, and then he started to drive to the grocery store. At the time I was under the illusion that my dad would be even slightly happy to see me, but no.…

“All I Want for Christmas” plays on the radio while you drive through the neighborhood seeing bright lights outlining the roofs of houses and decorations scattered about the yards. This is a typical scene during the Christmas holiday, which begins the day after Thanksgiving and ends well into the new year. It is considered the most wonderful time of the year – a time filled with decorating houses inside and out, rushing around for the “perfect” gifts, attending parties, spending time with your family, and celebrating the birth of Jesus (at least for those who are religious). The importance of this holiday differs from family to family. For my family, spending time with the family and appreciating what you have is the most important part of…
