Personal Narrative: Christmas Cards

Decent Essays
Jenn, I was not able to get Christmas cards out this year, although I had every intent to. I figure that New Years cards, would be the next best thing. What a beautiful card you sent, it brightened my day. I am so glad that you liked your gifts. I too love the gifts you bought me. The shirt fits great, and the notebook is perfect. Our outing was fun and I look forward to many more. Ithaca will be lots of fun. Let me know when you are home again, can't wait. Hope your New Year has been splendid so far, see you soon.
love,

Essay Christmas is a time where families come together to share in the christmas joy. Richard Rodrigues shows the negative impact of a newly wealthy family, and the change in the dynamic that the material success has brought. The once proud parents who always wanted success for their children have seen less and less of their kids, and the effect of that is conveyed in the detailed interaction between the members of their family. Sibling’s success that allows them to buy such expensive items has taken them away from their family and holidays have become a routine rather than a genuine interaction. Rodriguez himself also notices the emptiness in their relationship both between himself and his parents and everyone as a unit.…

I miss them already. Despite the freezing cold snow and the nipping air, we had a lovely Christmas break. As I inspect my child, now grown with children of her own, holding tickets back to their home, longing envelopes me. Hoards of people push past, unaware of my pain, on their own schedules and heading toward different trains, talking and texting on their cell phones. My family boards, time as if in slow-motion, and waves goodbye until I see them again.…

It is though provoking to learn that many of the traditional beliefs that have implanted since I began learning about religion are inaccurate. Thanksgiving Extra-Credit Assignment My family has never been big on the holidays- I almost always spend them at a friend’s home. This year, I went to my friend Alex’s home for Thanksgiving alongside my friend Jay.
