It was a Sunday when this tragic incident happened. On May 8th I was trying to get this stump out at my mom's house with an axe. I went to stick it in the top of the stump to go eat lunch and it bounced off the stump and landed on my foot. It left a big scar on my left big toe. It didn’t hurt but blood was rushing out like crazy. And all I could think was “why doesn’t it hurt.”
At 10:00 in the morning on Mother’s day my mom said “let's plan out our day.”
The first thing she said was “let's rake the leaves.”
“But I think we should do something else for your special day.” I replied. (Really, I just didn’t want to.)
She said “we can after we rake the leaves.”
We were out there for 15 minutes and I was getting so bored. So I thought “what if I

While all that is going on I am hacking at the stump, happily with an axe. Then I got up and picked up sticks so Macy didn’t have to do it all and my mom made me rake leaves. So after I was done with that it was 11:45 and we were about to eat lunch, but I had 15 minutes to spare so I went and hacked at the stump. After those 15 minutes my mom said “lunch is ready.”
I said “be there in a second”
So, I went to slam it into the stump and it ricocheted and nailed me in the foot. My big toe started gushing out blood but it didn’t hurt. So I called my mom outside and she started yelling at me for not coming inside for lunch. Then I said my toe is bleeding really badly. I said “I think I it it with the axe but I didn’t hit any nerves so it doesn’t hurt at all.”
She said “well sit in this chair and keep your foot above your heart so it will stop bleeding and It might close up the cut faster.”
Then, she put rubbing alcohol on it to clean it off before she wrapped it in some sort of cloth. When I was sitting there all I could think was “why doesn’t it hurt.” Then my older sister (Kylie who has special needs) came outside and started to act like it was the biggest deal in the world. When she saw the blood she ran inside and started screaming at my mom just to tell her “Ben’s bleeding.” So she went straight back to the

So I put it down and yelled for my mom.
She said “WHAT.”
I said “I’m hungry.”
She said “But you already had lunch.”
I said “I know but, I’m hungry again.”
So she came down stairs and said “What do you want.”
I said “I don’t know, what can I have.”
She started naming off things in the pantry and the fridge and finally she got to toast and I said “I want toast”
So she started making me toast and I kept trying to work on my summer work. 2 hours passed and we were getting ready for dinner and I was losing feeling in my leg. So put it down off the table and it started to instantly bleed.
I said “Mom it’s bleeding again.”
She said “Why.”
I said “Because I put my foot down.”
She said “Why did you do that.”
I said “Because my leg was starting to lose feeling.”
So she came downstairs and fixed it up again. That night we ate dinner, watched a movie and play board games. But, by the time I had to go to bed, all I could think of was my mom because I hadn’t shown much love for her on mother’s
