It was less than a second, maybe a half second, but it changed everything. I was going in for a layup with 5 seconds left in the game. When I went up everything was fine but when I came down I landed on someone's shoe and my knee turned and when I fell down and looked at my knee, it was turned towards the other way. I looked at the scoreboard and there was 2 more points on the board for us, and the horn sounded. And we had won the game and won the championship.

I looked at my leg and immediately knew that it was broken. My coach and the medic ran over to me and started looking at my leg.I couldn't really hear what they were saying because I was about to faint. And of course a few seconds later my vision went black. But I woke up in the ambulance right before they put my leg back in place. When they put it back in place, it was the worse pain of my life.I screamed as loud as I could and scared the doctor. They told me that I was going to be out of basketball for a year, and I broke down crying. And I couldn't go to school for 3 weeks so that was one good thing. But I couldn't play next school year and that sucked. Also I had to wear a cast for 9 months.

When we got to the hospital they immediately took me into surgery . The surgery was going to take almost 5 hours just to put the bone back .When I got out of the surgery I couldn't talk or anything, I felt completely numb. My whole body also ached and hurt and my arms itched really bad. When we got into the room I could finally hear what the doctor was saying but only a little bit. What I caught was that the surgery went okay but I was going to be out of basketball for a whole year and a half. That woke me up real quick and they saw my eyes get real big. They were telling me that it would be okay but I did not want to listen so I tried to fall

One Friday afternoon, after a long day of school I had to go to basketball practice to get ready for regionals. Everything was going good, pretty normal practice. Our coach wanted us to get our conditioning in so he had us run some patchies. A patchy is like a suicide, which is when you run to the free throw line, turn around and sprint back, then run to the half court line and run back, and so on. But instead of turning around and running back to the line you ran backwards to the line.…
