Have you ever stopped caring so much that whatever happens, happens? I remember the time I had gotten in trouble by my mom because I had walked home from school. It was a gloomy day from it being so cloudy and cold. I was talked into walking home during school by friends whom, at the time didn't care about school as much as I did, cared nothing of school. I didn’t like it, but then again I started not to care either.…

That is when I slipped and hit both of my shins on the metal. One of my friends asked me if I was ok. When people are injured, they usually say “I'm fine”, and I did not want to be a loser in front of my friends. I wanted to say I was fine, but I was in loads of pain.…

The other team decided to put Nick in net because he isn't a very skillful hockey player and he could cause goalies if he was out. Since my hand was spraying blood and I was sitting out they asked me to drop the ball for the starting face-off of the game. Without me, my team was at a disadvantage because the other team already had one extra player and without me they now have two. The game started out very badly for my team, right off of the face off the other team scored a 200-foot bottom corner shot. But my team came charging right back down the road as the fans were chanting my name, but I had to let them down because the injury was not any better and I would not be able to dangle.…

I texted my dad to have him run home and get me some Ibuprofen, and I’m sure I must have taken enough that night that my kidneys will never forgive me. When Eric came to get me to warm up, I got up and did an awkward limp to the door. He asked if I should still be running, and I assured him that I would be fine. At this point, no amount of pain medication would work, and I stepped up to the start line fully expecting to finish in last place, have Quisno find out about my injury, and freak out at me. I ended up running almost 30 seconds slower than my best time, but I still managed to finish in 5th place to help out the team.…
