It was with apprehension that I walked down the long stretch of pavement every Sunday morning. I could never be sure what I'd be facing that season. Despite my three years of volunteering with this program, attempting to overcome obstacles, my next hurdle was the tallest one yet. Emily was a five year old with a luminous smile always on her face; she also suffered from Cerebral Palsy. This disorder restricted her to a wheelchair, unable to control the way she moved or talked. How was I supposed to teach this young girl to play the foot-oriented sport of soccer? With Emily's determination, it was a challenge I was willing to undertake.
