During my high school career, I have been volunteering my time at Cedar Mountain Fire Rescue as a junior firefighter. As a fourteen-year old junior, I could not take classes, participate in all of the firefighting activities, and had more restrictions than a regular firefighter. So for my first year of involvement with the department I was not very active, I only attended trainings on Thursdays and occasionally helped with extra fire department lead events. During those trainings though, I learned from observing what the more experienced firefighters were doing and what they were teaching.
