“Don't be ridiculous, of course I would like to come,” Cecelia responded immediately. “Besides, I could use a break from all that useless paperwork I have to do. I'm about ready to blow the clinic apart.” I smiled at the last part of her sentence, thinking it was a little funny. I understood what she was feeling, I wanted to go do something before I had to head back to my office, for another appointment and more paperwork. Then, Cecelia turned around and started walking, signaling for me to follow her. “Let us hurry, shall we? It would be best to get there as soon as possible, since others will notice our absence soon.”

“Yeah, let’s go!” I quickly caught up to Cecelia, and started walking next to her. I didn’t know where Dr.Niel was located

The Crevasse “Adversity is the source of our deepest growth and greatest blessings; embrace it, dare to seek It,” that was a quote from Aron Ralston, who fell down a crevasse and his arm was wedged under a rock, which inspired the movie “127 Hours.” One day I was going to the creek with my friends, Matthew and Kendal, to hang out. We had this amazing spot that had a bridge that we made and everything. We were bringing further supplies to add on to the spot and make it look more visually appealing. When we arrived at the park we brought all of the supplies down under a bridge.…

In the discombobulation of day to day life, all types of people are going to try to knock you down. This hardship was experienced personally by Brenda Roza as she realized that “there may not be that person next to you that's going to speak up for you”. There is no reason for strangers being malicious, to try to knock other people down when they’re not even known to you. As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

For most people asking for a Capri-Sonne is not a defining moment in their existence, for me that sliver colored squishy pouch of fruit juice with grapes that looked like purple miniature beach balls etched in the middle was the object that lured me into the world of speaking German. I was 2 years old when my mother received a phone call from my father exclaiming that the Army had assigned him to William O. Darby Kaserne and later that month our family, would be uprooted from suburban Seattle and replanted in a rural yet medieval Nuremberg, Germany. Thus far, my world as I knew it had been a two-story cream-colored house with white trimming occupied by nuclear family, my two elder brothers, Hiram, 6 and Theodore, 4, my mother and father. In this world there existed only one language, English and only one me.. After a grueling 20-hour flight, stopping in Detroit, New York, London, Frankfurt and finally Nuremberg.…

The sickness that I live with is one that some would find excessively appalling, making it impossible to talk about; so I kept it to a whisper. This sickness I thought was to embarrassing to talk about, making it impossible to seek help, left me feeling alone in the dark. This sickness ruined friendships, without me realizing it. This sickness that made getting out of bed a struggle for me. This sickness made it impossible for me to see a positive future, until the day I stopped calling myself “crazy” and began to grow from what we all call, depression.…
