Catching My First Fish
Have you ever caught a salmon? If you have then you know then they put up a fight. This is how I caught my first salmon.

It was a cool afternoon and I was about 9 years old, I was casting an orange spinner, under the bridge at Black River. I was getting tired of fishing because I haven’t caught anything all day.

I was slowly reeling in the lure back up to the bank of the river. I had a hit! I tried to set the hook, but I didn’t set the hook in time. I sighed and then reeled the lure in the rest of the way, and then casted again, in the same spot where I got the hit. Then I slowly started reeling the lure in again. This time I was prepared, bump... bump.... Bump… zzzzzzzzz, the fish hit the lure. This time I set the

My family consists of my parents, older brother Patrick ( now a sophomore at Madison), younger brother Declan ( now a sophomore at MUHS), and my younger sister Nora ( now in 8th grade). We were all there for this trip just younger. On our trip one of the main attractions we stopped at for a few days was at the Grand Teton National Park in Jackson Hole Wyoming. Eventually, “I reached down for the rod, hesitated, looked up to where Sheila was stretching herself lazily toward the sky, her small breasts rising beneath the soft fabric of her dress, and the tug was too much for me, and quicker than it takes to write down, I pulled a penknife from my pocket and cut the line in half.” Even though the boy loves fishing and desire to catch the bass, he still choose to cut a fishing line which mean for him Sheila is over the bass. “Twenty yards ahead of us was the road, and once I pulled the canoe up on shore, the bass would…

For my Science fair paper I am going to use ten different lure,Which are going to be a soft plastic sanko, jig, lipless crankbait, squarebill crankbait, jerkbait, craw dad, and a swim bait. I have went fishing in five different ponds a a squarebill crank bait has worked the best. Most web cites and most of them said that a soft plastic sanko will catch the most fish. Which I personally don't think is true. “Best bass fishing lures” said that a soft plastic sanko will catch the most fish.…

My family and I started out the weekend by going fishing. We fished many hours and we hooked into some nice crappies. Our family’s seasonal camper on Lake Shamineau is where we spent most of our time fishing. Routinely spotted were large northern pike and muskies all while looking for schools of crappies and walleyes. Quietly trolling for walleyes, I happened to snag a small fishing rod.…

The Fish Milkshake This is a true story I like to tell that happened to me when I was 8 years old. I like to tell this story because it was a very embarrassing story, and embarrassing stories always make the best ones after they are all said and done. It all started the day after my birthday with my brother Quentin, my mother, and my grandmother.…

It was fairly slow going after that, with some sort of large fish following my fly or spinner in on each cast but never committing (I'd later find out they were Striped Bass). Finally, something bit and while it didn't fight too well I was excited, it was my very first walleye (very amusing considering I grew up on Lake Huron-currently a walleye hotspot). Lake Powell has no limits on either Walleye or Striped Bass due to their predatory effect on bait fish and their rapid proliferation, so I bonked this one on the head and proceeded to less-than-expertly fillet it. Trout and walleye for dinner!…

Close call on Current River In the small town of Popular Bluff, Missouri, sun was brightly shining down on this hot summer morning, making it the optimum day to go tubbing down Current River. That morning there were about eight of us going tubbing, my stepfather Larry, two uncles, an aunt, my sister, my two brothers and I. We loaded up the car with the essentials that would be needed; then we loaded up into two vehicles and headed for the river. When we finally arrived at the water’s edge my brother John and I were so excited, we basically leapt out of the car before it came to a complete stop.…

First Day at the Lake “Brooklyn, wake up. It's time to get up and get dressed and get ready to leave.” My dad said as he shook me awake. It was mid summer and my plane awaits my family and I. My previous camping trips I have taken in the past years have been memorable and full of hardship. I consider myself a very outgoing and adventurous person, that is why I go on crazy trips. Canoeing is my preferred way of traveling when touring lakes and rivers such as the Boundary waters and the Flambeau river. Major disadvantage of canoes is that they weigh up to 85 pounds. The weight matters being when crossing land to get to the next lake the canoe goes on your shoulders to carry it.…

My First Deer One brisk 30 degree day in January, when I was nine years old, was a day for which I was extremely excited. My dad got me out of school earlier that day, so we could go deer hunting. I had already shot a turkey the year before, so guns were nothing new to me. We made a quick stop at my house so that we could pick up the .243 youth edition, a really short barreled .243, that my dad had bought just about a month before so that we could go hunting, and I would actually be able to handle the gun. At this point we did not have the hunting land that we do today, so we went to my grandpa’s house and hunted in the clearing of trees behind his house.…
