Personal Narrative: Call Of Duty

Improved Essays
It was the weekend and I just acquired my pay after doing some extra chores around the house. When my mom handed me my allowance, I realized that today was the release date of Call of Duty. I hurried off to my freshly clean room and put my money in my weighted wallet. As I was putting the money away, I mentally counted the amount and it turned out to be a little more than the cost of the game. After deciding to buy the game I went to my mom’s room and found her playing with my baby sister. I asked her, “Can you take me to GameStop today?”
I waited for her answer and then she said, “Ask your father.” I searched to find that he was outside washing the car. I didn’t want to bother him so I went back into the house and waited until he had finished.

The Arrival I had originally planned to travel to Rio on September 5th through September 12th. A perspicacious and experienced hunter named Rainsford accompanied me. It was nighttime when I first spotted land of any sort. It was vaguely visible and was opaque, so misty that even Rainsford couldn’t see it. Utterly tired, I began drifting off, dreaming of the adventures we were soon to face.…

I didn't realize how different I was until I joined the military. I grew up thinking that it was normal to wake up on Saturday mornings at four am so that we can get groceries from the church. That we ate beans and rice for nearly every meal of the day. That some nights we would get a call from our family in Mexico or El Salvador about something terrible that had happened to one of my cousins. It wasn't until I talked to others outside of my city that I understood that I was alone in some of my experience compared to the new friends I made from Vermont, Michigan, Illinois and plenty of other states.…
