Personal Narrative: Brett Hippler

When I made the transition from St. Joes to the high school, I had to become familiar with 109 brand-new faces. Before the high school, I had 20 people in my class. Whether your moving schools or just coming into the bigger school in town, it’s going to be crammed with new faces. One of those faces happened to be Brett Hippler. I’m not sure whether we had our first class together freshman year or not, but since then, I have come to get to know Brett on a personal level. Throughout the classes I have spent with Brett, I have found that computers and sports are two things that put a sparkle in his eye. When I think of the type of person that loves computers, Brett does not cross my mind. I think that is unique about Brett. He seems like a very outgoing person that is nowhere near the nerd end of the spectrum. Playing on computers is not what Brett loves; he is more interested in the inner parts and networking. However, the only thing I can tell you about a computer is how to turn the darn thing on! Brett said, “The second I got on a computer for the first time, I was fascinated and I knew there was so much to learn about them. The …show more content…
Since Brett started sports he has participated in _____________________________. Throughout high school he has ran cross-country, track, and played golf. In addition to sports, Brett is also a member of the school robotics team, which I think is cool, but I know nothing about robots. I admire his choice in sports as I have, or would do all his sports if I could. I have only had the opportunity to be on the same team as Brett once throughout my high school career. We both went out for cross-country freshman year but I have never talked to him before then. At that time I never would have thought that I would be writing a paper about him in three years. Like most people in today’s society, Brett plans to go to college for a secondary

When she was ready to have full time employment again, she was offered an open position teaching FACS, but she did not a have a FACS degree. The best way to describe Andrew Middleton playing basketball is to compare him to a lion on the hunt. Although a lion isn’t the smallest animal, Andrew is a six foot four freshman, a lion is extremely stealthy and can sneak quietly up on it’s pray, and in a matter of seconds, the hunt is over. Middleton is not a man of many words, but he lets his actions speak loudly on the basketball court. Andrew is a freshman at Thomas College in Waterville, Maine. In the first inters-quad scrimmage at Thomas the one play that sticks out in my mind was when Thomas Senior guard and MMBCWA first team all-state player of the year, nonchalantly took a shot only to get it shoved back down his throat by the quite Middleton who acted like it was no big deal, because to him, it probably wasn’t.…

McKeesport isn't one of the greatest places to live. In fact, it’s probably one of the worst in Allegheny County. After the decline of the Pittsburgh-region’s steel industry and the influx in gang activity, McKeesport became a cesspool of death, poverty, and demoralization. I moved to McKeesport when I was three. Growing up, McKeesport was always a depressing and discouraging environment.…

I must say, you’ve really come quite a long way from where you started. I was a little weary of you at first. In your early adventures, I found you to be an immature boy with a heart for mischief. Maybe it wasn’t just that you liked trouble, but you always seemed to find yourself in the midst of it. I am currently a baseball player for Lower Columbia College where I am also pursuing a general education AA with the expectation of transferring to a four-year college or university in fall of 2016. I signed with the Red Devils in 2014 while still in high school, receiving a scholarship to play for them during my college freshman and sophomore years. Although I originally planned on majoring in education to teach math and science at the middle and high school levels, my interests have shifted to focus on sports therapy/physical therapy due to my involvement in sports. I have been playing baseball since I was seven (7) years old, dedicating a large percentage of my time and energy to be the best player possible. Because I was always on the…

Interview on African American athlete I interviewed a high school classmate I had a couple years back. He was a standout high school star and had skills like a professional NFL Player. He was 5’10, muscular build, and 220lbs and literally carried the team on his back during his time at Hendrickson High school. It was a surprise to see him because I haven’t seen in him a while and I had a friend set us up a meeting because of his busy schedule as Texas Tech football athlete.…
