Personal Narrative: Break Her Down

Improved Essays
Break Her Down Children want many things. There are days when they want to play with people and days when they don’t. As a baby through my toddler years we had a dog, Kilo; I’m not sure of the breed. He was very overprotective over our family, especially my brother and I; however he was still a friendly dog. When I was around five years old, my mom went outside to find Kilo had somehow hung himself by his chain. Usually, when he ran around the tree, the chain would snap so that he would not hang himself. She, as well as the rest of us, loved that dog so much. I swore I would never want another dog after that. We tried having fish and cats, but that didn’t turn out too well. I was really just a dog person. Finally, my brother and I started wanting a dog. He wanted a pit bull or a bulldog. I, on the other hand, thought that Yorkshire and poodles was the cutest thing, I also thought it would be cool to have a pit or bulldog. My mom was totally against getting a dog because she said that after Kilo no dog could ever come to the house. …show more content…
My brother and I kept trying to come up with ideas on how to talk our parents into getting us one. We knew that having a dog came with lots of responsibilities, such as: cleaning up behind it, feeding it, showing it affection, care for it, and bathing it. My mom still was against it because she didn’t think we would be responsible enough to take care of a house dog. She still was completely against pits and bulldogs, so we were still

As many people have said that a dog is a man’s best friend, the majority of dog owners including myself, completely agree with that statement. While some people can say they have trained their dogs into obedient animals, I on the other hand can say that with the help of my family, I raised two puppies from birth. This not only showed me a whole new level of responsibility, but helped me realize what true dedication feels like. This past February, my dog Prim passed away hours after giving birth to two precious puppies. While she was going into birth, things were not going smoothly so we had to take an emergency trip to the vet.…

In this convergence poster there are several things that make up who I am, On the poster there is a picture of me and four rainbow trout that I caught when I was seventh grade. Me and my grandpa went down to roaring river along the Missouri and Arkansas border. It was a weekend early October and we decided it would be nice to get out of town and go do what we love to do, we mostly fish for crappie and sunfish, but we thought it would be interesting to try and fish for trout and with roaring river just a five hour drive away and restocks trout daily we jumped in the idea. My grandpa and I got up at six A.M. the next morning to fish because the alarm goes off at seven, we fished for six hours and I was so mad because the water was crystal clear and you could see the fish just looking at your lure, my grandpa told me to just keep trying and around eight a’clock that evening they started feeding and I caught over ten pounds of trout that day.…

It was not easy finding the perfect dog for me. In fact, it is a huge surprise that my mom let me get a dog in the first place. Through almost 3 years of begging, building up money from summer jobs, and saving birthday money, my mother finally said yes to getting a puppy. We were not not ready to spend thousands of dollars on a purebred from an expensive breeder so firstly, we visited up the nearest dog shelters. Although there were other grown up dogs in the shelter, my mother said that if I really wanted a puppy for my personal self, I should get a puppy so that it can grow up and match our lifestyle.…
