As I am sitting on the plastic patio chair outside of my front door I hear childrens voices from across the street. My neighbors children are outside chasing eachother with toys and soon after I hear their father come outside and scold them about something unaudible to me, but after the kids went inside.
At that moment, a car turned the corner and when it parked I realized it was my new neighbor upstairs. He was looking grumpy as usual and walked passed me without saying a word. He has very long black hair tied in a ponytail and a medium length beard. As he walks up his stairs I can hear him turn on metal music and lock his door.
I heard a faint voice coming from the unit behind ours and around the corner of the building the sound of a raspy

The norm may not always be the right way to go. I no longer want to be a part of a popular or important group of people, if I feel that what the group is doing or believes in is wrong, even if it means I'm not a part of the norm. I am not afraid to stand out on my own. I have challenged this belief for many years. When I was in elementary school, I was bullied by a group of girls that I hung with, looked up to and idolized.…

After sixteen years of careful contemplation, I have unquestionably concocted the recipe for a perfect family. Although the intentions were always sincere, I entered the world with an extremely sheltered, yet ignorant perception of life. I grew up in a nurturing two parent household, a kind of household that you’d read in the story books. Blissfully ignorant of anything that did not consist of receiving, I would most likely fit your description of a “privileged child.” My childish ignorance blinded me from the problems of the outside world.…

I am sitting in my room when I hear this obnoxious screeching sound outside the window. It doesn't sound like anything I had ever heard, but it also sounds extremely familiar, like one of those smells you can't quite place but you just know that it smells like something you've had before. I got up to go find one of my parents hoping I wasn't insane and they could hear it too, and when I walked out of my bedroom door I stopped dead in my tracks, remembering that they were going to Europe on some big trip. I know that I didn't want to go check out what the sound was because I know from all the horror movies I've seen that the first person to go and check out the strange noise, or creepy building is either the first one to be kidnaped or killed.…
