Decent Essays
In today's society it's normal for teenagers to have a job that gives out horrible pay as well as horrible hours. But, for me I am fortunate to only deal with the horrible hours. I work at Betty Jane's Homemade Candies, with twenty other girls around my age. I spend most of my time helping costumers trying to find the perfect chocolate for them or for someone else as a gift. Betty Jane's is best known for their gremlins. They're filled with pecans and caramel covered with rich chocolate on the outside. The gremlins come in many size boxes, the smallest is a four-ounce box and the biggest size we sell is a five-pound box. When you walk in the candy store the air smells like all kinds of chocolates; including gremlins, chocolate caramels, truffles,

During the eighteen years I have lived my experiences have been fairly sheltered. I have never traveled out of the country, eaten exotic foods, or gone skydiving; consequently, I haven’t met many people of special interest. Not to say the people I have met are not interesting, on the contrary, most of the people I have come to know all have their own unique stories and experiences; however, I never did meet anyone quite like Miss May. To this day I can’t pinpoint what exactly it was about her that intrigued me so much, maybe it was her rich brown hair and almond-shaped eyes, or how she pronounced candy more like “kehn-dee”, or it definitely could have been the way her eyes lit up when she smiled—still she will always remain a mystery to me.…
