Personal Narrative-Best Soccer Player

As a kid I had many aspirations. I wanted to be the best soccer player I could be. My parents gave up so much for me to follow my dreams. I never knew how much it cost to travel for my soccer tournaments and constant practices. It was just any other Sunday night with my family. I was sitting on my bed in my room talking to one of my friends on the phone. My brother was loudly playing on his Xbox. My parents were attempting to figure out what we were going to eat for dinner. Everything was normal, but then, abruptly my call gets interrupted. For the past six months I had been trying to get recruited to play soccer for the University of Tennessee at Martin. I visited the campus and attended a College ID recruiting camp and I loved everything about it. Most of the time when I receive calls from weird numbers I ignore them but, this call was different. Is this Skylar?” with his heavy Irish accent. I blurt out yes, and listen to what he has to say as I walk into where parents were. My dad had excitement written all over his face. My mom had just finished up our tacos and I could smell the taco seasoning. She was jumping with glee. The anticipation was killing us all. I finally made it into a quiet room where there were no distractions and listened. Then out of the blue my dog decided it would be a great time to bark at a bird that was outside. My parents quickly hushed him and started listening to our conversation through the door once again. Coach McNamara said I could make an impact for the team right away. With no seniors leaving the team, he explained that I would have to work even harder to earn a starting spot. I told him I was up for any challenge thrown my way. After discussing scholarships he finally offered me a spot to join the team. We ended the call with high expectations, excited to see what the future
