Personal Narrative: Benton County Fair

Decent Essays
This weekend I am going over to Travis’s for his birthday and we are having a airsoft war. I might go fishing. I am going to pick out pigs for the Benton County fair. We are picking the out at Cashmeters. I am going to mow the law. After I get done mowing I am bringing the mower back and bringing home my dirt bike. I am probably going to ride around for a couple hours. I will ride in our yard, driveway, in the hay fields, and in the pit. My family is celebrating Mother’s day. Last I will ride my grandpa’s wheeler around his 80 acres.

Nolan county is a great place to grow up and live in. I happen to reside in Roscoe and go to school there. I moved to Roscoe when I was going into the fourth grade, and I am glad I did. Where I moved here from is a place that I am glad I got out of, I would’ve most likely be getting in all kinds of trouble there. Nolan county saved me from all that trouble.…

Most teenagers would probably tell you that the beginning of their adulthood was marked by having to do laundry for the first time, or being able to drive alone, or perhaps no longer sitting at the children's table at family events. But for me, it happened this past summer, when I made the very difficult decision that I would not return to Coleman Country Day Camp. To those who were not fortunate enough to have grown up at summer camp, this might not seem like such a big decision to make. But Coleman was my outlet, my second home for ten consecutive summers and spending those two months anywhere else seemed inconceivable to me.…

Reaching a goal and the work it takes to get there can be a long, trying process. My goal is to put together a win to make it to the National FFA Competition on the FFA Nursery Landscape team. I have competed on the Nursery Landscape team from the time I was a freshman. As a team of three freshmen and one sophomore, our main goal was to place as high as we could as individuals which would help our team score. At the State Convention, I wanted to place in the top twenty as an individual.…

The trip to a camping site in the middle of a Pennsylvania forest- a trip I would never forget- lead me to the discovery of myself and my transition into adulthood. This trip was through the summer camp I have attended for now eleven years; Liberty Lake Day Camp located in Columbus, New Jersey, is my second home. I grew up in this camp, and when I finally reached the age to become a L.I.T, a leader in training, I was eager to undergo the program with my friends I always attended camp with. This trip was a reward to all the hard work we do as L.I.Ts. Little did I know the annual L.I.T trip to the camping site would be life changing.…

It was a beautiful, sunny day in Syracuse. I was spending time with my family during summer break, which is always my favorite time of year. No homework, no worries, absolutely no cares in the world, or so I thought at the time. We just arrived at the New York State Fair for our annual day of fun, and I was filled with the immense thrill that only a child of eleven years can truly feel when she sees all of the rides that she can possibly imagine just waiting for her to enjoy, and feel the wind rushing on her face. Skylar…

It was a hot and humid night in Livingston Parish, Louisiana in the middle of October. My dad, mom, brother, and I were inching our way down the road towards the fairgrounds. The traffic was backed up for at least two miles and my brother and I were restless. At just 9 and 12 we had visions of hot dogs and funnel cakes swimming through our minds, making us ask consistently when we will be there. At almost nine o’clock we finally pull up onto the makeshift dirt driveway heading into the massive parking lot, which was really only a field.…
