Personal Narrative: Being Overtly Physical With My Son

Decent Essays
Good Afternoon, There is this one student that been repeatedly being overtly physical with our son Philip F. McCracken, IV. Every chance he gets, he pushes or bumps Philip and then blames him for the action. He has also done other things to Philip such as grabbing the doorframe and jumping on or near Philip's back. Other students have witnessed this and defended Philip. He tells us this occurs mainly in Ms. Haussman's science class and at times during lunch. He has tried to report it to Ms. Gunther, but he says is out of school this week.

My son is concerned about being near this student because of the repeated teasing / harassment. Partly because that student is bigger and taller than he is. Today he was crying and stressed.

Uninvolved parenting style parents are careless with their children; therefore, the parents tent to be "unresponsive and lack in communication" (Gonzalez-Mena, J., 2013). For example, at a Starbucks, three women were enjoying conversation and a young girl who two or three years old was sitting the next of her mother. The girl was interrupting her mother’s conversation because she wanted an attention from her mother while she was busy talking with her friends, yet the mother was keep ignoring the girl. Next, the girl started to make a mess around her by dripping her drink and dropping crackers on the floor. Despite the fact that the girl was causing the problem at the store, the mother was ignoring her daughter and her behaviors.…

    Satire In The Simpsons

In today’s society we are introduced to many problems that are always put to the side and is never taken care of because people are so in denial and don’t want to face the truth. In the simpsons intro the writer uses satire( the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues) to explore the flaws of society through his made up fictional characters. Some issues that I have come to a realization are the fact that parents in this century are not paying enough attention to their children and holding them fully responsible for their own actions. In other words children are doing whatever they please with no care whatsoever in the world because they know that there is no consequences for their actions. This also causes these children and teens to misbehave in class which leads to a distraction that takes away learning from kids whom parents actually send them to school to learn.…

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Scottie and Wilhelmina Brown, This correspondence is being provided as a follow-up to the telephone conversation that I had with Mr. Scottie Brown on Wednesday, February 22nd in reference to your letter as parents requesting a written summary regarding the situation involving your son, Isaiah Brown and another student in his class at dismissal on Valentine's Day. Per my discussion with Mr. Brown, I shared the following: • The situation observed by a Meramec parent, handled by a Meramec teacher, Mrs. Karen Finder, was previously investigated and addressed. • While the parent observed only your son's interaction with one other student, there was another student also involved in what transpired. • This other student has teased and taunted the student you identified as bullying your son during class, continuing to tease and taunt as they were leaving the building.…

An ELL student is described as a linguistically and culturally diverse student who is learning the English language in addition to his or her native language. In my current fieldwork experience and to the best of my knowledge, there are no ELLs students attending any of the classes that I currently observe. From what I’ve observed, the classes I attend are not highly diversified by ELL’s, those students who are, seem to speak English fluently with no noticeable difficulty. Therefore, I am unable to give any descriptions on learning accommodations as of now on ELL’s. However, there were many lessons that did observe that accommodated different learning styles, that would also help ELL students if they were present in the classroom, such as, visual, auditory and tactile learning accommodations.…

Madera High School, Home of the Coyotes is usually known for being “one big family”. At least that 's what most of the community believes, little does the community know it is not always that way. Bullying/harassment is not a huge problem at MHS, but is is there. The staff and students have taken the initiative in noticing that there is an issue with bullying/harassment, and have found various ways of letting the students know that they’re not alone and have someone to talk to if ever faced with bullying/harassment. Recently, students at Madera High School (MHS) have conducted surveys for both students and staff to understand and get more knowledge on the issue with bullying/harassment in the school.…

During the colloquium class, it was very fervent and sad because we talked about child abuse or neglect and we as teachers, need to be alert for any sign of child abuse or neglect in our students. As, my facilitator taught us to take into consideration that the first-person reporting is the teacher who the teacher has a responsibility in the classroom to report whatever we see on the student’s body, and check if there are any changes in the student behavior. In this colloquium, Charlie talked about a few students in his classroom, and one of them always used to come late to the class even though, he was living close from the school. He asked the student’s mother what happened with her son that he always comes late to school, and she told…

Ever since my second day at my school placement, one particular student (whom I will refer to as X) in Ms. I’s second period class has never failed to catch my attention. Each week, I never know what to expect from X: some days he is a model student, working diligently on the task on hand, but on others he acts out and refuses to comply with Ms. I’s requests. However, sometimes there aren’t even good or bad days, for X’s behavior can vary so drastically within a one-hour class period. On good days, X is the type of student every single teacher would want to have. He sits quietly at his desk, works on the class assignments for the day, and even goes as far as to offer his help to his classmates.…
