In high school, I am the mehndi that sticks out. Being a Pakistani Muslim is a unique niche in a Catholic school. Everyone was welcoming, and I was grateful to be there because was stronger academically than my public option. But in the beginning, going to Catholic school was very scary. I walked into orientation not know a single soul and everyone else already grouped with people that they meet that day. When I walk into the orientation everybody was stare at me saying what I was wearing because I forgot that I was not wearing assigned uniform for girls at my school but instead of wearing white polo, black and gold skirts I was wearing a white polo with cargo pants which made instantly made me different from everyone else.
