Personal Narrative Behavior

Decent Essays
If I was to pick a behavior that I need to change I would definitely say that I need to become less of a procrastinator. I've always had a problem with procrastination. This problem has only gotten larger as I continued my schooling through the years. I would say that I've always had this problem but that it only began to grow as large as it is once I transitioned between middle school and high school.

Talking seriously. I know how to avoid fragments, but I am trying to put on paper my brain--splashing the gray matter on the white sheet. Although it may sound bizarre, my abnormal mind conceived a fragmentary diary as a reflection of the reality of life, and I honestly like the skeleton of the memoir. Indeed, there are oceans of possibilities of improvement, and I want to balance fragments with a nicely written prose.…

The social norm that I violated was singing out loud on a public place. Well I did not really get to sing loudly on a bus or train. I did however sing loudly while I was shopping in Wal-Mart. I thought it was the next best thing than singing on a bus or something. Since there are tons of people at Wal-Mart in the first place.…

The norm may not always be the right way to go. I no longer want to be a part of a popular or important group of people, if I feel that what the group is doing or believes in is wrong, even if it means I'm not a part of the norm. I am not afraid to stand out on my own. I have challenged this belief for many years. When I was in elementary school, I was bullied by a group of girls that I hung with, looked up to and idolized.…

Maybe it was the box in front of the house with large red, runny, letters proclaiming me to enter. Or maybe it was the blue door, that looked far too new to be attached to this house. It could have been the crumbling brick that made up the entirety of the house, or the crumbling bricks that sat outside the small building. It called to me, pushed me to it’s bidding, begging me to enter. It probably hadn’t been the best idea to enter, in hindsight, I could have made a much better decision.…

Even though most of those problems are my fault they were no less a problem. For me my laziness and procrastination especially when it comes to writing is not an easy thing to change. I just have to continue to work on organization and breaking work especially written work into small steps and force myself to complete those steps each day. Lastly my procrastination and laziness lead to a terrible junior year when I almost failed math. My teacher was even more disorganized than myself which made his class very stressful.…

About four years ago I was playing club lacrosse for the Villanova Wildcats travel team. I was about thirteen years old when I experienced one of my first significant lessons of failure. At a young age many do not understand the importance of failures and short comings, and how it is essential to learn, grow, and improve. We think success comes easy and without trial which is not realistic. My life changing failure taught me many things: the strength of teamwork, the power of preparation and will, and how to be a better competitor.…

It all started in a place called a factory. I don’t know what that is, but it was where I was born. I started out as a sheet of stainless steel. I was put on a metal thing that cut me into a certain shape that made slick. I was then put into a weird, holder thing that was comfortable.…

In my modern day vanitas assemblage, I used a variety of three-dimensional objects that are representative of my ideas of life and death, and what I find most valuable in my life. To start off I used a 16x20 cardboard box lined with newsprints and black construction paper. The newsprints represent the fleeting passage of time and the idea that history and the presence of earth will continue to be documented even after I am gone. The collections of CDs assorted are albums that have resonated within me throughout various stages in my life. Music has a way of curing the soul and translating words and ideas that at times are difficult to convey.…

When I was eight years old, I moved from Manchester, MA to Fort Mill South Carolina. For the first five years, I absolutely hated it there and I despised my parents for making me move there. The first few years were rough; I felt like I didn’t fit in because I was from the north and I couldn't understand half of my teachers because of their thick southern accents. I struggled to make friends and couldn't wait to move to somewhere new someday By the time I was a freshman, my attitude changed; I fell in love with the place. I had popular in my grade, I had straight A’s…
