The Child and Adolescent journal says that cutting your hair can signify gaining independence. I definitely think that I gained a lot more confidence and independence because of this small change I made. This is similar to a well-known story tale; Rapunzel. When Rapunzel finally gets her hair cut she finally gains independence from her mother after years of being dragged down by her hair.
