Personal Narrative-Becoming A Good Football Player

A lot of kids grow up wanting to be a doctor or a lawyer, but I grew up wanting to be a good football player. Football is something that caught my attention when I was very young, and my love for the game has seemed to grow stronger and stronger with every passing year. I live for the long practices and the late night games. The thrill the game gives me is unimaginable and the adrenaline rush is just as strong. With this being my senior year, I felt like I needed to prove myself to everyone, that we could win.. That we were winners. What better time to prove that than the homecoming game? Thursday night before the nerve racking homecoming game against the mean ferocious Richwood Lumber-Jacks, my mind was so restless. Going in a million …show more content…

We had defeated Richwood for our homecoming game. I would be lying if I said I wasn't surprised. The first win all season and it was on a big night, and I don't think I could have been any happier. The crowd roared with excitement, they didn't think we could do it either. We proved them wrong and proved ourselves right. The Bulldogs were

The shot clock went off and before you knew it we had lost. The Huskies actually lost in the championship, and unable to go undefeated for another season. We were shocked, some of us even in tears. We saw the Heat hold the trophy as we received our 2nd place medals, which meant nothing coming from winning so much. We walked out of that gym with our heads down and in disbelief.…

The time spent on the practice field was for moments like these. With our backs against the wall, we had to put up a fight against four other teams. And that was just to make it to the championship game. Not only were we the underdogs, we were the youngest team in the tournament. We won the first game, then the second; cruising through these teams were as easy as taking candy from a baby.…

Our coach brought us together at the half and told us this aphorism. This really got us pumped up because we remembered all of the hard work that we had put into practice and we knew that if we did all that we learned and played 100% then we had a chance to win or at least tie. We were also pumped because we were reminded that it would be the last home game for our seniors and we wanted to give our all for them and wanted to win this game for them. We came out strong the next half and played our hearts out, we never gave up. We ended up catching…
