Personal Narrative: Baseball Tournament

Decent Essays
This weekend I am going to play in my baseball tournament. I would guess that my team has a little chance of winning it but you never now. My team’s first game is at 8:00 and our next game is at 10:00. When I am batting please don’t bother me because I am very easily distracted that’s why my batting average is so low. When hit I need to push it I need to stop pulling it so much. During our game I pushed one right over the first basemen and I got a double. I hit doubles more or less. Our team’s jerseys are gray and red. It was too bad because that was the only hit that I got in the tournament. It was fun but we did not do very

and I started to hit well again but this reminded me that always stick to what works don't change something if it's not broken and for the rest of that tournament I hit well and always remembered that a great event can humble you. Now i'm gonna talk about what type of bat I was using and believe this or not me and my parents just bought this bat two days before the tournament and came in handy I guess. Well the bat I was using was called a Easton S1 Junior Big Barrel Bat.…

My first at bat, I got a high fastball and hit it back up the middle. It felt like hitting a pillow, I didn’t feel it on my bat. Then all started playing like we could win this game. In the fourth inning we took the lead 7-5. In the sixth, they were up to hit and we need to stop them in order to win.…

Baseball: the sport where you stand around for 20 minutes and move 3 feet to the left and move 3 feet to the right. It’s so intense. It’s so intense that you could take a nap on the field with everything out there. Of course, I’m being sarcastic. The only time it’s actually fun is when you’re annihilating the other team while they’re asleep on the field.…

The game of baseball has always been in my life since I was a child. My love for the game began when I was five years of age signing up for tee ball at the local little league. As a child, I would imagine myself as a professional ballplayer. I would mimic my idols every chance I had or I would dream of myself being in a critical situation to win the game and to make history. Now, I am chasing my dream by trying to become one of those greats who played the game.…

When I'm up to bat I don't hear a thing, I hit the ball and all I hear is everyone chanting and screaming. The very first time I played softball, it was my very first game, I hit the softball to the fence and I stood there in shock, I didn't know what to do. The coach was screaming "RUN" and I ran the bases, the other team kept over throwing the ball to the bases to get me out. I made it to home plate, it was a home run.…

I played sophomore baseball for Senior over the summer. It was the best season I've ever had as a Dubuque Senior High School baseball player. I was the pitcher on the team, also known as the "Ace". Before the last couple of games we had an anonymous team vote on which award people should get. At the end of the season we had a potluck with the varsity team and the sophomore team.…

One situation where I found myself in a fixed mindset was when I was a freshman at Mountain Pointe high school trying to make the baseball team. At the time, I had a half-hearted passion for baseball that made me want to be on the school baseball team, but I felt that everything would come natural to me because I was Dominican. I was quite proud of how Dominicans were typically great at baseball quite naturally it seemed. However, with this knowledge I became highly critical about everything I did when playing baseball at the high school camps before the baseball tryouts. I did not focus on overall improvement as I tried to ensure that every throw, batting, and pitch was perfect.…

My first baseball game ever had been off to a tremendous start; until my next at bat. After my first at bat, I was riding my high horse thinking I was going to get another hit and make my dad proud all over again. I stepped into the white caulk batter’s box, and went through it all again. As the pitch came in, I noticed it seemed to be coming towards me instead of down the middle. I wasn’t sure what to do, so I stayed right where I was; and got…

Baseball was the majority of my summer weekends, and I would have it any other way. Long weekends at hotels all across the state from Battle Creek to Frankenmuth, we played baseball where ever it was to be played. But these stages could not prepare me for where I was about to play next. The University of Dayton baseball stadium, the nicest natural field I have ever played on. It was beautiful from the seats, the mound, the outfield wall, it was all gorgeous.…

Before I went to the World Series, I thought it was a joke, but I guess not because on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH was where the World Series was. I was more ecstatic than ever going to the World Series. When we got there, we had to choose our seats because it was standing room only(SRO). We chose our seats in foul ball territory, just about 15 feet away from the foul pole in left field. The game started and a country band named “Locash” sang the “Star Spangled Banner”, even fireworks shot up into the air making a crackling sound.…

Game after game I would come home feeling dejected after not getting a hit, and the slump would ruin my confidence. Even after all the hard work, my practice was not providing positive, instant feedback. The constant failure was demoralizing. After one game, I felt I hit superb but had no hits to show for it. I came home for once not feeling as depressed, but now optimistic.…

What I was looking forward to doing my senior year, was leading my team as a senior to the best we could be. I was working harder than I ever had all winter long leading up to this. I had one goal that I did not see happen any of my four years there, which was getting to the state championship. There were a lot of things that had to go right for this to happen. The team had to be good, they had to work hard every day, they had to win districts, they had to win regional’s, and the most importantly the team had to get along great they have to be a family.…
