A few months ago I found myself awaking to countless bad hair days. The lifeless molecules on my scalp were a reflection of how I felt and it just wasn’t working. It seemed like everything about my existence mirrored my hair: dried out and tangled. Sometimes life (and hair) gets so frenzied that a fresh start is the only remedy. This is because the tree sends its energy in the direction of the clipped area. By shaving your head energy moves in that direction, which is where your lovely thinking machine and Crown Chakra are also conveniently located. And in case you didn’t know, it’s the Seventh Chakra, or Crown Chakra, that is used to communicate with one’s Divine and spiritual nature. I guess that explains it!

Most spiritual journeys begin because we want more than anything to know who we are and where we came from. We want to unlock our true identity. Lack of hair brings me to my core. It makes me feel raw and empowered. I have learned that love for one’s self should come from within, rather than from society’s approval and praise. Identity is not found in labels, tags or appearances. Instead, it is found in beliefs, vibes and core feelings. Identities that are cultivated in Love and Light yield the prettiest form of appearances anyway- appearances that truly glow. That is your essence; that is who you truly
