Despite myself, adventure calls to me, so I agreed anyway.
The first day, I was very late to the opening meeting. They were understanding due to the fact that I lived hours away and had to be there so early in the morning, but I felt sheepish, for I liked good first impressions.

They lasted for about two hours, one in the morning, and one in the afternoon, and our assigned teacher, or Naturalist, would give us lessons about the ecosystem. I learned the names of many local trees and plants, and I even got to eat a wild mushroom.
There were rough times, though. However it was a real confidence booster for me to know that I could handle situations like an adult. One day, we missed a roll call because it was not specified on our schedule! This bothered me, so I alerted one of our managers about the situation. She was happy I brought this to her attention, and I was happy to be helpful.
Meal times were interesting. Every councillor and child was assigned a number, and we'd sit at the round wooden table that matched our number. That way, we could meet kids from other cabins and eat meals with them. The food was surprisingly better than I thought it would be, and I was so happy to see that they had coffee for the staff. I can't think right without my coffee.
The last day was the best in my opinion. We went on a six hour long hike, through tough terrain. I am glad I had become athletic through martial arts, because my old desk-loving artist self would have probably collapsed on the side of the mountain. I was probably running half the time, keeping up the with
