Personal Narrative: Attitude Before Altitude

It’s very ironic because my cousin Jack battled leukemia and Alex was his roommate at children's! Some events just hit you like that. This girl Jamie died from a car accident because the driver didn't see a stop sign and it just hit me so I created a fundraiser for Jamie even though her school was a rivals but we raised around 2,000 dollars for her family, and a scholarship in her name. The title is catchy, I didn't know what it meant at first. I thought it was about sports but it is a creative title that caught my eye. Your story is very touching and its amazing that you found your passion so young! I would like to know more about your feelings at that very moment when you heard of her death. Like descriptions of what you were doing and how your body felt like a throbbing in your chest when the sad news hit you. And the feeling of actual realization that you had found your passion.

It felt like I could of been on the mountain, trying to catch my breathe, building up the motivation to move forward. Bringing the senses to your writing was vital for your memoir. As a reader, we really wanted to know how you feeling through your journey. Also, your title came together when you talked about the Ian who had died trying to climb the mountain. I didn't understand the title but it came together! Building back your motivation from when you started was inspiring. Your story takes us through you not only reaching the summit but getting back on top and feeling better. I also like the quotes you through in while on your seemingly never ending journey.
