Personal Narrative: Attending The Sight And Sound Theatre

Decent Essays
I recently had the amazing opportunity to attend the Sight and Sound theatre in Branson, Missouri. The name of the production that I enjoyed was “Moses.” It was an amazing production that made you feel almost as if you were in Egypt as it happened.

I had an amazing experience as I watched the performance. I felt like I was standing there hundreds of years ago watching the basket float down the river. Like I was in the river as the princess took it up and named the child. I was able to experience what it must have been like when his mother handed him over to the princess to grow up as a prince.

It was like I ran through the desert with Moses to escape the wrath of the Egyptians. I also felt as if I was subject to the king as if I was a slave. If I were standing there being forced to work and being beaten and mistreated.

The breeze they felt and the fish they saw on the sides of the walls. It was truly an amazing experience for everyone who was

The Visitation of the Sepulcher Drama is such a unique form of literature, and it is the one I enjoy the most. There is just something about the idea of talented/skilled actors and actresses performing a masterpiece onstage that makes me overjoyed. Many themes also boggle my mind when it comes to drama. One of these themes is theology, or religion. This theme inspires me to do the work of Christ, and to be good to my neighbors.…

In DreamWorks’ 1998 animated film, The Prince of Egypt, viewers are introduced to Moses, a young man filled with life, vibrancy, and mischief. His life was preordained by God to lead his people - the Israelites - out of captivity and into the Promised Land. This modern Midrash not only revitalizes the story of Moses, but changes its original purpose. By comparing and contrasting the DreamWorks version of Moses’ youth and exit from Egypt to Midian to that of the biblical story and scholarly commentary, it is revealed that the purpose of The Prince of Egypt is to emphasize social change and justice.…

Overall I thought the experience of The Musical of Musicals (the Musical!) was unique because of how they had the stage configured as a thrust with some audience members sitting on stage. Before the show began Brittney Hines who was the audience concierge came over to the group of people I came with and asked us our favorite musicals which was a nice touch. Although I have had the opportunity to see many musicals performed live or the movie versions, of the musicals mentioned I only understood the references from The Phantom of the Opera. It would have made the play more enjoyable had I understood all the references but, it was still entertaining.…
